●Theme
“Christian Education We Especially Need Today: Reconciliation, Coexistence, and Peace.”
In today’s world, tragedies of conflict and division continue to unfold across the globe. Even in our daily lives, as we strive to build a society that embraces diversity and promotes education and childcare grounded in nonviolence, we must ask whether we truly understand one another, or are we merely resting on a superficial sense of understanding?
This symposium invites participants to reflect on the issues of justice and reconciliation in contemporary society from three perspectives: Christian peace studies, global-citizenship-based human formation and educational philosophy, and biblical and practical theology. Together, we will explore the meanings of “reconciliation,” “coexistence,” and “peace” from the perspective of Christian education.
In particular, we aim to consider what should be most valued in Christian education today. By reevaluating the role of Christian education in human formation and the church’s role in this process, we hope that each participant will gain fresh insights and be renewed in spirit.
